Arrest made in Ahoskie homicide

AHOSKIE – An arrest has been made in a fatal shooting here early Friday afternoon.

Fredrick Scot Williams, 31, of Ahoskie, is charged in the homicide of 26-year-old Darvarious Romon Wilson, also of Ahoskie.

According to the Ahoskie Police, Williams was developed as a suspect in the fatal shooting and arrested Friday night, apparently in Raleigh where he is held without bond in the Wake County Detention Center.

Williams stands charged with first degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

There was no information shared about a motive for the murder.

The Ahoskie Police responded to a shooting at Peachtree Apartments at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, police located a deceased male, later identified as Wilson.

“We would like to thank the Hertford County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina SBI, and the Raleigh Police Department for their assistance in this investigation,” said Ahoskie Police Deputy Chief Stephen White. “I would like to commend the hard work and dedication of all of those involved in this investigation, especially our staff who are always willing to go above and beyond to bring justice for the families.”
