NAGS HEAD – James Lebron Hall, age 78, formerly of Ahoskie, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025. Born on February 15, 1947, in Suffolk, Virginia, he lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and love for his family.
James proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. After his military service, he embarked on a rewarding career with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, where he worked diligently as a Transportation Technician for 40 years before retiring in 2008. He then moved to the Outer Banks, where he and his beloved wife, Paige Baugham Hall, enjoyed many joyful years together until her passing in 2018. They shared a mutual love for surf fishing, spending countless serene days by the shore.
A devoted family man, James cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren. He was passionate about traveling, often taking family vacations that were both educational and memorable. He was a history enthusiast, always eager to share knowledge with those around him.
Among his greatest joys was his loyal canine companion, Ellie, who brought him much happiness in his later years. James’ life was prosperous and full, characterized by unwavering dedication to his family.
James married the love of his life, Paige, in 1968. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, known for his warm heart and steadfast spirit. James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Sarah Elizabeth Daughtrey Hall and Edwin Campbell Hall; his loving wife, Paige Baugham Hall; his brothers, William Hall and Robert “Bobby” Hall; and his sister, Katherine Davis.
He is survived by his children, James Keith Hall and wife Jennifer Howard Hall of Wilmington, NC, and Kimberly Hall Gardner and husband Scott Gardner of Wilson, NC. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Zackary Hall, Abigail Hall, and Nathan Hall of Wilmington, NC, Christopher James Hall and Christopher Wayne Gardner of Wilson, NC; and his great-grandsons, Leland Hall and Brayden Hall.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 1-2 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, NC. A celebration of James’ remarkable life will follow, beginning at 2 p.m. with Pastor Greg Hurdle officiating. A private burial will take place at Highland Memorial Gardens in Ahoskie, NC.
