AHOSKIE – Teddy Ray Davis, born on August 11, 1944, in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 3, 2025, in Ahoskie, North Carolina, at the age of 80. A loyal husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Teddy was cherished by all who knew him.

Teddy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who dedicated his life to hard work and his family. Teddy was a respected Mechanical Contractor in the Heating and Air Industry, with White & Woodley Mechanical Contractors before retiring after over forty-five years. Known for his unwavering commitment to his profession, he always carried a small toolbox, ready to fix anything that needed repair. His dedication was such that even during a rare family vacation to Disney World, when the air conditioning unit in the motel failed, Teddy promptly repaired it, ensuring his family’s comfort.

Work was not just a career for Teddy; it was a passion and a hobby. Despite taking few vacations, he cherished his time with family and celebrated many happy years with his beloved wife, Frances Davis. Just one day before his passing, they marked their 62nd wedding anniversary on March 2.

Teddy is preceded in death by his parents, Gladys Wiggins Davis and Thomas Irvin Davis, as well as his siblings, Betty Todd, Jimmy Davis, Patsy Doughtie, and Arthur Davis.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Frances Davis; his daughter, Betty D. Cooper, and her husband Anthony; his grandchildren, West Myers and Mary Myers; his sister, Nancy Jernigan, and her husband William; his brothers, Gerald Davis and his wife Cenith, Lewis Davis and his wife Dail, and his twin brother Eddie Davis.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff of Gentiva Hospice for their compassion and support during this difficult time.

Teddy Ray Davis will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, dedication, and craftsmanship will endure in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

A graveside service will be held on March 6, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 200 Green Street, #203, Williamston, NC 27892.
