Each year features a different overall theme. The one chosen for the 2025 edition is No Place Like Home.

We realize that home is more than a structure. It’s a place where you feel safe, loved, and special. It’s a place that welcomes you with open arms.

Much like the character of Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz,” she learns a valuable lesson…..no matter how far you roam and no matter if you think that the grass is greener on the other side, there’s indeed no place like home.

And along Dorothy’s journey, she befriended three individuals who she helped gain what they were missing in life: brains, heart, and courage.

Crossroads – 2025 features local groups and individuals who have used their brains to make our area a better place to live; shown their hearts in offering a helping hand; and demonstrated courage in the face of adversity.

Through these stories, perhaps you will learn something new about the place you call home. Maybe these stories will inspire you to the point of offering to join their effort, either through action or making a donation to a charitable cause. Perhaps you can draw inspiration from their stories and find the heart, the courage or the knowledge to go out and make a difference in your local community.

You will find a copy of Crossroads 2025 inserted inside today’s edition. We hope you enjoy reading the stories and we encourage you to take note of the businesses and others who chose to support this publication with their advertisements.

Additional copies of Crossroads 2025 are available at the Roanoke-Chowan Publications office, located at the intersection of Main Street and Catherine Creek Road in Ahoskie.
