ASKEWVILLE – Senior Night, a time to come together as student athletes, faculty, fans, and friends to celebrate both personally and collectively memories that were made on the hardwood.

The Ahoskie Christian School Warriors (ACS), wearing a dual title of culprit and winner, spoiled Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Eagle’s (BACA) Senior Night by beating the Lady Eagles 57-41 here Tuesday night.
BACA came out with vigor and determination as they exploded to a 6-0 lead in the first three minutes of the first quarter. Warriors’ freshman Mara Dae White responded with a trey ball to cut the lead in half.
After a successful pair of free throws by Eagles’ junior Savannah Ball, the Warriors knocked down a pair of trifectas while taking the lead. The Eagles never saw the lead again. The first quarter ended 13-8 in favor of ACS.
The Warriors physicality level increased in the second quarter, sending BACA to the charity stripe fives times. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they were only able to make two out of nine shots.
The Warriors effectively held the Eagles to only five points in second quarter while building their lead 24-13 at the buzzer ending the first half.
The Eagles brought about offensive change as they scored 12 points in the third period. The offensive and defensive rebounding skills of Ball enhanced BACA’s ability to gain control of the basketball defensively and allow multiple attempts at the basket offensively, while keeping the ball out of the hands of the Warriors.
Unfortunately, the Warriors matched the Eagles in scoring, closing the third frame in front 36-25.
Olivia Bazemore poured in 14 second half points, but it just wasn’t enough to bail the Eagles out.
The ACS tandem of Lilly Lassiter and Mara Dae White combined for the majority of the Ahoskie Christian scoring.
The Eagles were only nine points down (46-35) with just under three minutes left in the game, but the Warriors stole the ball twice, one accompanied by a Lassiter three pointer, to put the game out of reach.
Lassiter led ACS with a game-high 22 points while White added 16.
Bazemore topped the BACA scorebook with 14 points. Haley Griggs added 8 points.
