RICH SQUARE – Infant, Evelyn “Evie” Rose Simmons of Rich Square, NC passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at ECU Children’s Hospital.

Her beautiful name was given to her by her older sister, Alexa.

She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Andrew “Andy” Ricks Simmons; her paternal grandfather, Sammy Dean Simmons, and her maternal grandfather, Vincent Arthur Yarboro.

Evie is survived by her parents, William and Sara Simmons; her siblings, Alexa Cheyenne Scott and Waylon Thomas Simmons; her paternal grandparents, Catherine Futrell and Paw-Paw Futrell; her maternal grandparents, Dennis and Helen Hackler; her aunt, Stephanie Yarboro and uncle, Andrew Yarboro; her uncle, Daniel and aunt, Melissa Simmons, her cousins, Emma Shay Yarboro and Oliver Simmons; her great aunts and uncles, David Futrell (Uncle Paco) and Jorge Molina and Kent and Robin Pulliam.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Rich Square Baptist Church in Rich Square, NC.

Interment will follow in the Futrell Family Cemetery in Rich Square, NC.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Rich Square Fire department or the Rich Square Baptist Church.
