Windsor man faces felony drug charges

WINDSOR – Armed with a search warrant, Windsor Police officers and Bertie County Sheriff’s Office deputies seized numerous illegal drugs and firearms here Monday.
Anthony Williams of Windsor was arrested after a trafficking amount of cocaine, a trafficking amount of Oxycodone, a felony amount of marijuana, three firearms, U.S currency, and other items of drug paraphernalia were found at his residence on Thomasville Lane in Windsor.
Williams was charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking opium, felony possession with intent to sale and deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling place to sale/store a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Williams was confined in the Bertie/Martin Regional Jail.
Bertie County Sheriff Tyrone Ruffin said the investigation into Williams was initially conducted by the Windsor Police Department before becoming a joint investigation with the Sheriff’s Office.
“This is a perfect example of law enforcement agencies working together to make our communities and neighborhoods safer,” Sheriff Ruffin said.
