GARYSBURG – The Halifax/Northampton counties Juneteenth Freedom Celebration event will be 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday June 17 at the Garysburg Town Center, 504 Hwy 46 West.

The theme this year is “Education is Enlightening.”

This is the 16th year that the Halifax/Northampton counties Juneteenth Committee has hosted this celebration of the end of slavery. It is the longest-running celebration in Roanoke Valley.

This years’ celebration promises to be even bigger than ever. There will be live entertainment, cultural exhibitions, food trucks/vendors, community resource information and fun games for all ages.

The event is free to the public, but individual vendors may charge for goods. There is no fee for vendors to participate again this year and the committee is accepting vendor requests currently. Please call (252) 563-0101 with any questions.
