AHOSKIE – Billy Ray McCaskey, age 72, passed away on May 5, 2023 at his home.

Mr. McCaskey was born in Bertie County, NC, on November 16, 1950, the son of the late Samuel Eli and Marie Price McCaskey. Billy, in his younger years, loved to hunt, but gave up the gun for the tractor. Billy loved to till the soil, plant the seeds, and watch them grow. He had a real passion for growing produce, for his family and friends. This led to his opening and operating McCaskey Produce Farms for several years, providing many with fresh produce for their tables.

Besides his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his devoted canine companion, “D”.

Billy is survived by his son, Samuel Chad McCaskey and wife, Brandi of Pinetops, NC; three grandchildren, Addison McCaskey, Maci McCaskey and Aidan Ancil; and his cousin, Ray McCaskey and wife, Teresa of Carrsville, VA.

As per Billy’s wishes, there will be no services.
