RALEIGH – Julian Brett Edwards died on April 22, 2023.

Brett was born in Roxboro, NC to the late Barbara Hudgins Edwards and Julian Hall Edwards, DVM of Rich Square, NC.

He was reared in Rich Square, where he attended Rich Square Baptist Church and was a 1982 graduate of Northeast Academy. Brett attended North Carolina State University, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and the Order of the Cross & Chalice Hall. Brett worked for Edwards & Edwards Farms, and operated Roanoke Hunting Lands in Northampton County, NC.

Brett was a “people person” who never met a stranger. He was an avid Wolfpack fan & Masters aficionado with the ability to identify golfers by their profile or gait.

In addition to his parents, Brett was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Ford Conger Edwards and his brother, Julian Chris Edwards.

He is survived by his children, Julian Hall Edwards II and wife, Madison; Marian Lansdell Conger Edwards; and William Alexander Hudgins Edwards; and the mother of his children, Marian “Bambi” Conger Edwards.

He is also survived by his sister, Danya Edwards McQueen and her husband Gary; nephew and niece, Garrett Edwards McQueen and Julia Hall McQueen; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 between 5-8 p.m. at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Julian Hall Edwards II, in Raleigh.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd at 1 p.m. at Christ Church, 120 E. Edenton St., Raleigh, NC. A reception will immediately follow the service in the church commons.

Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary’s St., Raleigh, is serving the Edwards family.
