Several players from Roanoke-Chowan area high schools have been named to the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association’s (NCBCA) All-District Team.

District 1 First Team selections included two players from Hertford County High School – senior Israel Powell and junior Keveon Rodgers – as well as senior Ky’Lee Bazemore of Bertie High School.

Bertie junior Jah’Kelvin Rascoe was named Third Team All-District, as was Northampton High School sophomore Jiyoun Williams.

Veteran Hertford County High School coach Charles Simmons was named as the NCBCA’s District 1 Coach of the Year.
