MURFREESBORO – Rockie Lee Vann Brett, age 93, of Murfreesboro, NC, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

Rockie Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edith Vann; her husband, Howard Brett; her daughter, Kathy Brett Koonce and her husband, Michael; and her brother, George Vann and his wife, Louise. She is survived by her son, Stan (Pam) Brett of Conway, NC; her five grandchildren, Clay (Courtney) Koonce, Mandy (Jason) Smith, Cory (Kris) Brett, Logan Brett, Melanie Cox; and eight great-grandchildren.

Rockie Lee worked at the Murfreesboro Nursery until retirement. She was a long-time member of the Meherrin Baptist Church. She was very involved in the Women’s Club, enjoyed painting art, gardening, and quilting. She will be missed greatly by all her family, friends, and neighbors.

A memorial service will be led by Rev. John Porter at Meherrin Baptist Church, 519 Meherrin Lane Murfreesboro, NC 27855 on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 11 a.m. A burial will take place immediately following the service in the church cemetery.
