MURFREESBORO – Robert Clement “Roebuck” Vincent, age 78, of Liberty Street, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the ECU Health Medical Center of Greenville, NC.

Mr. Vincent was born on April 21, 1944 to the late Charles P. Vincent and Helen Read Vincent in Murfreesboro, NC. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, and was affectionately called PaPa by his grandchildren. Robert devoted his life to building homes in the area and thoroughly loved his craft. He was a dedicated member of Murfreesboro United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting deer and bear, fishing, shooting, tending to his chickens, and taking care of his dogs. He was known as “Roebuck” to all of his hunting buddies and loved to spend time at the Hunting Club with all of his friends. Robert never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone that could last for hours. Robert will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda; his brother, Charles Read Vincent of Emerald Isle, NC; his son, Robert Read Vincent (Jennifer) of Lake Gaston, NC; his daughter, Michelle Vincent Turner (Jay) of Wendell, NC; two grandsons, Justin Read Vincent (Jessie) of Clarksville, Tenn., and Evan Joseph Vincent (Jamie) of Littleton, NC; a granddaughter, Bridgett Logan Turner L. (Matthew Eric Littell) of Wendell, NC; two great-granddaughters, Adelynn Rae Vincent, and Ember Jameson Vincent; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at 4 p.m. at the Murfreesboro United Methodist Church, Murfreesboro, NC, with Rev. Monica Beacham officiating.

The family would appreciate if all of “Roebuck’s” hunting friends would honor him by wearing blaze orange to the service.
