GATES – Deborah Parker “Debbie” Crawford, 59, of 92 Hackley Road, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in her home where she was surrounded by family and friends.

Debbie was born in Hertford County on May 10, 1963 and was the daughter of George A. and Hazel Johnson Parker of Eure. Employed as an insurance underwriter with the James Epps Agency in Murfreesboro, she was a faithful member of Eure Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Samuel L. “Sammy” Crawford, Jr.; her children, Melissa Askew White (husband, Paul) of Eure and Ryan Rawls of Ashland, KY; her sister, April Jernigan (husband, Tony) of Gates; and her brothers, Greg Parker of Greenville and Al Parker of Eure. Also surviving are Sammy’s daughters, Samantha Chappell (husband, Alex) of Sunbury and Bryanna Crawford of Los Angeles, CA. Together Debbie and Sammy shared eight grandchildren, Sammy, Rylan, Lacey, Molly, Uriah, Sophia, Juliann, and Jonah. Debbie also leaves her church family and many, many friends that mourn her loss but rejoice that she is free from sickness and with her Lord.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 at 2 p.m. in Eure Christian Church and will be conducted by her pastor, The Reverend Wade Bennett. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, or in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service on Friday. At all other times they are at the residence.
