ATLANTA, GA – John Steed Evans, 92, died on January 5, 2023 in Atlanta, GA where he had recently moved to be closer to his daughter.

John Steed was born August 22, 1930 to Howard L. Evans and Orpah Steed Evans in Murfreesboro, NC.

He was predeceased by his sister, Katy Evans Johnson, and brother, H.L. Evans.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ann Nowell Evans; his daughter, Patra Ann Evans and her husband, Ted Buchanan; a grandson, John Buchanan and his wife, Perrine Voisin; and his brother, Joe Evans.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date to take place in Greenville, SC where he and Ann had lived for many years.
