LEWISTON – Deborah Ellen Brown Barnes, age 66, of Lewiston-Woodville, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the ECU Health Medical Center of Greenville, NC.

Mrs. Barnes was born on February 28, 1956 to the late Carl and Lou Crawford Brown in Bertie County, NC. Deborah enjoyed her life working as an administrative assistant for Perdue Farms in Lewiston for 45 years, as long as her health permitted. She has fought a very courageous battle with cancer. She loved spending time at the beach and the gym. She enjoyed working in her flowers. Deborah cherished her family and loved spending as much time as possible with them. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Deborah is survived by her loving husband, Frankie; her son, Joey Hunter Barnes; her granddaughter, Hailey Barnes; her grandson, Drake Barnes; and three sisters, Carol Tilley of Jacksonville, NC, Lola Rawls and husband Ralph of Wilson, NC, and Tammy Brown of Greenville, NC.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Ralph Rawls officiating.
