AHOSKIE – Pauline Hollowell Harris, age 90, passed away on November 17, 2022 at her home with her daughter by her side.

Mrs. Harris was born in Bertie County, NC on September 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Daniel Napelon and Jesse Brown Hollowell. Pauline and her late husband, Charlie Anthony Harris, Jr. were co-owners and operators of Harris Grocery in Ahoskie for nearly 20 years. After closing the business, she continued in the grocery business as a checkout clerk for Piggly Wiggly in Ahoskie until her retirement. Pauline was a member of Askewville Assembly of God Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #291. She loved her flowers and enjoyed working in her yard and seeing the rewards of her labor. She was a kind heart and will be missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents and husband, Pauline was preceded in death by her son, Charles Anthony Harris, III; her brothers, Melvin Hollowell, and Gene Hollowell; and her sisters, Florence Sessoms, and Anna Davison.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Eileen Harris of Ahoskie, NC; and her granddaughter, Christine Alise Harris of Virginia Beach, VA.

A graveside celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. R.O. Denton, Jr. officiating.
