MERRY HILL, NC – Mr. Ernest L. Capehart, 92, of Merry Hill, NC, departed from this life on Thursday, October 27, 2022.

Life Celebration Service will take place on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Ashland Missionary Baptist Church, Merry Hill, NC, with Pastor Willie J. Best, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A viewing will take place at the church on Saturday, November 5 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Mae Capehart; a daughter, Marion Delores Capehart; and son, Earnest Dwight Capehart.

He leaves to cherish his memories two children, Marietta Armstrong (WC) of Elizabeth City, NC and Calvin D. Capehart, Sr., (Inez) of Edenton, NC; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet Morris (Clarence Earl) of Brooklyn, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
