GREENVILLE – Nancy Jones Cooper, 71, of Greenville, NC went home to be with her Heavenly Father on October 10, 2022. She was born in Rich Square, NC on April 7, 1951 to the late Willie Lewis Jones and Agnes Harrington Jones.

She was known by “Kay” to close family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved her family more than anything. She was a LPN and worked at the Detox Center for many years. She enjoyed going to the beach, watching Shirley Temple movies, reading romance novels, and collecting Wonder Woman Memorabilia. She was the glue that held her sisters together.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jerry Skinner of Greenville, NC; her son, Christopher Cooper of Greenville, NC; her son, Ben Cooper (Hollie) of Tennessee; her grandchildren, Shelby Cooper and Tyler Cooper of Tennessee; her sister, Becci Jones of Jarvisburg, NC; her sister, Susan Alexander of South Boston, VA; along with her nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Her devoted son, Chris stayed by her side and cared for her until the end. The family would like to give a special thanks to Pitt County Hospice nurses who provided care for Kay and support for the family.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on October 23, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Rich Square Baptist Church, Rich Square, NC.

Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service is handling the arrangements.
