NEA-Lawrence football game rescheduled

LASKER – Northeast Academy’s home football game this Friday vs. local rival Lawrence Academy will have to wait a week to take place.

Heavy rain expected to arrive on Friday as the remnants of Hurricane Ian make their way into the state on Friday forced NEA officials to reschedule the game for the following Friday (Oct. 7). Kickoff will be at 7 p.m.

Hertford County High School’s home game vs. rival Northeastern, scheduled for Friday night, has been moved to Thursday, Sept. 29. Kickoff from Bears Stadium is 7 p.m.

Bertie High School athletic officials have rescheduled Friday’s home game vs. South Creek to Thursday. That game lists a 7 p.m. kickoff inside Roy Bond Stadium.

Gates County’s game at Tarboro, scheduled for Friday, will be played at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29.

Chowan University’s scheduled trip on Saturday to Fayetteville State University for a CIAA football game has been moved to a 7 p.m. kickoff on Thursday, Sept. 29.
