MURFREESBORO – George Cephas Grimes, age 76, of High Street, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at his home with his wife by his side.

George was born on June 29, 1946 to the late George Raymond Grimes and Mary Elizabeth Welshams Grimes in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He was a alumus of the ENGG School at U PITT, Pennsylvania. George enjoyed designing and constructing systems for lumber yards and various industrial machines. His hobby was building an airplane until he decided to build a concrete decagon as a retirement home for him and his wife in Villa Cecilia, Pinagsanhan, Maragondon Cavite, Philippines.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Salvacion Aurura Riel Grimes; a sister, Beverly Grimes Creps and husband Bob; and a step-daughter, Marisstella Jackie Riel-Henry.

The family received friends on Sunday, September 18, 2022 following Mass at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Ahoskie, North Carolina, with a reception to celebrate the life of George.
