SEVERN – A locally owned and operated company known nationally for its variety of tasty products invites the public to join them for a special birthday party.

Severn Peanut Company Inc., and its value-added food manufacturing sister companies Hampton Farms and Jimbo’s Jumbos, announced it will host a celebration in honor of its 75th anniversary. The festivities will kick off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Severn-Pendleton Ruritan Club in Severn.

Event organizers say the all-day celebration features concerts from several bands, including Willie Watson, Kruger Brothers, North Tower Band, Willie Peebles Band, and the Purple Hulls Band.

Other activities include children’s rides, carnival rides, cooking/crafting contests, antique tractor exhibit, games, raffles, and a 5K Run.

Multiple food trucks will be on-site throughout the day (no coolers allowed).

“We are extremely blessed to be celebrating our 75th year in business,” said Dallas Barnes, CEO of Hampton Farms family of companies. “The celebration is open to the local community and our peanut growers. The only charge is for food purchases. Please bring your chair for seating and come and join us in celebrating with our employees and families.”

The pre-event 5K Run will begin at 8 am. Gates to the event will open at 11 am. The music and festivities are expected to conclude at 8:30 p.m.

Operating since 1947, Hampton Farms is a division of Meherrin Agriculture that produces great-tasting products including in-shell Virginia and Valencia peanuts, shelled peanuts and tree nut snacks, and nut butters.

Based in Severn, Hampton Farms is a market leader in the in-shell peanut category, which is sold across the United States and Canada.
