WINDSOR – Companion Animal Advocates of Bertie (CAABertie) will host an online volunteer recruiting

Event at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6 to grow the number of active pet advocates in their network.

The organization hopes to recruit advocates, community ambassadors, grant writers and researchers, event planners, and more.

The group’s mission statement, initiatives, and upcoming events are published on their website at caabertie.org.

Founded in 2022 after recognizing many abused and neglected companion animals in the area, Companion Animal Advocates of Bertie has a goal of increasing responsible pet ownership within Bertie County. The citizen-powered movement includes a small but diverse group of volunteers who want to see better living conditions for companion animals.
