AHOSKIE – It will be a weekend full of laughs and maybe even a few tears.

Former students at Robert L. Vann School will descend upon Ahoskie on Sept. 3-5 where they will celebrate their 14th bi-annual reunion.

Numerous events are planned throughout the weekend as the celebration continues through Monday.

The event – hosted by R. L. Vann School Reunion, Inc. – officially begins at 9 am on Saturday, Sept. 3 with registration.

Also on Saturday there will be a “Get Acquainted/Opening Ceremony” at 10 am ($20 per person) followed by a business meeting (for members and Life Members only) at 11:30 am on the R.L. Vann campus.

The Reunion Trojans and friends will assemble at 2 pm on Saturday at the Ahoskie Museum, located on Railroad Street.

The Fellowship Dance, remembering the good old days, will conclude Saturday’s activities. That event will be held at the Elks National Shrine in Winton (Ralph Smith Building) with DJ Warren O’Neal from 9 pm until 1 am ($30 per person or $50 per couple).

Activities will continue on Sunday, Sept. 4 with morning worship at 10 am at New Ahoskie Baptist Church or a church of your choosing.

The annual luncheon will convene at the Elks National Shrine at 1 pm on Sunday ($30 per person).

The reunion ends on Monday, Sept. 5 with a 10 am picnic on the school grounds ($25 per person; no tickets are sold on site).
