WINTERVILLE – Thelma Louise Lowe Elliott, age 81, formerly of Rich Square, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Elliott was born on January 2, 1941 to Jessie Lowe, Sr. and Daisy Boone Lowe in Northampton County, NC. Thelma worked in quality control for Mylecraft in Rich Square for over 40 years before retiring. She was a long-standing member of Grace Baptist Church in Rich Square, NC. She loved her Lord and her church family and was faithfully dedicated to both for as long as her health allowed her to be. Thelma was loved by many and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Along with her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by beloved husband, Ronald Carson Elliott; a son-in-law, Billy Howerton; sisters, Nellie Mae Barmer Bryant, Betty Bigelow, and Rena Broglin; and brothers, Robert Lowe and Jessie (Bud) Lowe.

Left to cherish Thelma’s memory is her two daughters, Terry Hurdle and husband Charles of Winterville, NC, and Wanda Elliott Howerton of Rich Square, NC; grandchildren, Chris Hurdle Settle and husband David and their children Olivia and Carson Settle, of Greenville, Shannon Liverman Harrell and husband William and their daughter, Emmra Harrell of Grandy, NC, Alex Hurdle and wife Ashley and their children Charlie and Henry Hurdle of Greenville, NC, Grace Hurdle Pleasants and husband Jonathan of Greenville, NC; two brothers, Cleveland Lowe of Ahoskie, NC, and Billy Lowe of Rocky Mount, NC; sister, Margaret Lowe Brittenham and husband Thomas of Ahoskie, NC; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from10-10:45 a.m. with a celebration of life funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Robert Barmer, officiating. Burial will follow the service at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Rich Square, NC.
