AHOSKIE – Annie (Anne) Gardner Williams, age 81 of North Carolina Highway 561 East, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, North Carolina.

Anne was born on April 11, 1941 to the late George and Blanche Nethery Gardner in Halifax, NC. Anne grew up surrounded by her large family. She had seven other siblings; Buddy, Julian, Tom, Maybelle, Lucy, Nellie, and Lena, who all preceded her in death. Anne was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others, and she incorporated that into every element of her adult life. In her free time, Anne loved to go camping with her family as often as possible. She also loved trips to the mountains, rides to the beach, spoiling her fur baby, Angel, and enjoying the fellowship of her friends and neighbors.

Anne met her husband, David in 1961 while working as a nurse’s aide at Roanoke Chowan Hospital. The two fell in love instantly and knew they both shared a love for family. As a mother and grandmother, she was generous, loving, and kind. Anne is survived by her loving husband, David; two sons, Michael David Williams and wife Julie of Wichita, KS and Thomas Alan Williams of Ahoskie; granddaughter, Carly Williams of Manhattan, KS; grandson Haiden Williams of Ahoskie; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
