POWELLSVILLE – Larry Stevenson Hoggard, Jr., age 48, passed away on May 15, 2022 at his home.

Mr. Hoggard was born in Norfolk, VA on Nov. 11, 1973, a son of Joann Carr Hoggard and the late Larry Stevenson Hoggard, Sr. Steve worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for Bertie Correctional Institution. Steve was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He was always tinkering with some engine on a vehicle, especially his beloved truck, and loved grilling out especially when it involved smoking. Steve was one who loved to make people laugh and was always putting a joke over on someone. He loved his family, especially his son, Michael and will be missed by all who knew him.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Larry Stevenson Hoggard, Sr.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Stacey Godwin Hoggard; his son, Michael Scott Hoggard of Powellsville, NC; his mother, JoAnn Carr Hoggard; his brother, Roy Hoggard of Angier, NC; a sister, Crystal Hoggard of Winton, NC; two nephews, Royce Hoggard and Bryce Hoggard of Angier, NC; and a niece, Kaelyn Hoggard of Angier, NC.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, and other times at the home of his mother, JoAnn Hoggard.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with Edward Ward officiating.
