KELFORD – James Harvey Bland, Jr., age 87, of Church Street, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at his home.

Mr. Bland was born on October 27, 1934 to James Harvey Bland, Sr. and Rachel Scott Bland in Martin County. James worked with Harrington and Gregory Manufacturing for 44 years. He married the love of his life in August 1954. James was a dedicated member of Kelford Baptist Church. He loved to mow grass and do his puzzle books. He was loved dearly by his family and will be deeply missed.

Along with his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and John Bland.

James is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Margaret, and his son, Harvey Wayne Bland, both of the home.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 6-7 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square, NC and other times at the home.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Roxobel Kelford Cemetery, Roxobel, NC, with Rev. Doug Spivey officiating.
