MURFREESBORO – Robert Allen “Bobby” Jones, age 75, of US Hwy. 258, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at his home.

Bobby was born on December 15, 1946 to the late Robert Jones, Jr. and Pynell Barnes Jones in Tarboro, NC. Robert retired as a truck driver for Rose Brother’s after nearly 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed working in the garden, throwing ball to his beloved dog, Axle. He loved spending time with his family especially his granddaughter, Harley. Bobby was always up for his favorite snack, “diet mt. dew and a fly cake”. Bobby will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Left to cherish Bobby’s memory is his son, Allen Jones and fiancé Mary Jo of Murfreesboro; two granddaughters, Harley Nicole Jones of Murfreesboro, and Alana Skye Jones of Gaston; a sister, Shirley Jones Futrell and husband Winborne of Murfreesboro; niece, Janet Francis and husband Brian of Murfreesboro; and nephew, Wynn Futrell and fiancé Crystal of Murfreesboro.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 3 p.m. at the Sunnyside Cemetery, Scotland Neck, NC, with Rev. John Porter officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
