February 29, 1956 – March 17, 2022

AHOSKIE, NC – Gregory Glenn Goss, age 66, made his final transport to Heaven on March 17, 2022. He joins family and friends who preceded him in death, especially his beloved mother Carolyn Sumner Goss.

Gregory is survived and remembered by his brother Steve Goss and wife Lee of Raleigh; sister Pam Craft and husband Billy of Kenansville, Pam’s children: Lee Ann Garner, and husband John, and Megan Penny and husband Michael, as well as nieces and nephews: Caroline, Charlie, Samantha, Gatling, Lelia, and Sarah Ruth. He is also survived by his longtime special friend Donna Chamblee Hurdle and her children Dillon, Scott, and Woody.

Born February 29, 1956 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC, he resided in Hertford County for most of his life. He attended public school in Hertford County and graduated from Ahoskie High School in 1974. He was an accomplished athlete, particularly in football and baseball. A lifelong Wolfpacker, he continued his education and love for baseball at North Carolina State University where he was a member of the Beta Tau Chapter of Sigma Nu.

Gregory lived life to the fullest and made countless friends along the way. He loved people from all walks of life. He could charm the socks off of you while shagging to beach music or by simply telling one of his many stories. His wit was unmatched as was his love for his friends, family, and community.

Always ready to assist a friend in need, Gregory loved people and people loved him. This carried over into his professional life at MedEx Transport Service in Ahoskie.  His coworkers were like family, and he spoke often and fondly of them. “Triple G” leaves behind many family and friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Carpenter’s Shop Church, located at 903 South Catherine Creek Road, in Ahoskie, NC.
