AHOSKIE – Michael Kevin Taylor, age 56, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Accordius Health at Creekside Care of Ahoskie, NC.

Mr. Taylor was born in Hertford County, NC on July 1, 1965, a son of the late Jesse Ervin and Christine Taylor Taylor. Michael as a longtime member of Higher Ground Pentecostal Holiness Church and always looked forward to attending church. He loved his church and church family and even when he was unable to attend, was always eager to know what was happening there, and looking forward to seeing the new church built. Michael had a generous heart and never met a stranger. He had an amazing memory, especially with names and dates. He joined the Walmart family as a greeter, and this became his life for over 20 years, bringing him out of his shell. He loved his job and worked hard to do the best job he could, earning him the title of Employee of the Month.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce T. Spruill, and a brother, Jesse Earl Taylor.

Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Linda T. Askew and Sally Geneva Keeter of Ahoskie, NC; a brother, Willie Taylor and wife Mary Ellen of Aulander, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Higher Ground Pentecostal Holiness Church, Ahoskie, NC, with a celebration of life service following at the church with Rev. Ray Faircloth, Sr. and Rev. Ray Faircloth, Jr. officiating.
