WINDSOR – Bertie High School has advanced to the Final Four.

The top-seeded Lady Falcons will compete in the Class 1A Girls Eastern Regional championship game on Saturday thanks to their 60-44 win over fourth-seeded Northside here Tuesday night.

In that game, Bertie built a 10-point halftime lead (33-23) and then dashed any hopes of a Northside comeback in the third quarter where the Lady Falcons raced out to a 20-point advantage (49-29).

Bertie (22-4 overall) will meet second-seeded Wilson Prep (24-0) in the Eastern Regional finals on Saturday, March 5. That game will be held at the J.H. Rose High School gym in Greenville. Tip-off is at 12 noon. The winner advances to the state finals (vs. the Western Regional champion) on Saturday, March 12.

Wilson Prep advanced to the Eastern Regional finals by defeating third-seeded Falls Lake Charter School, 66-56, on Tuesday night.

According to the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s website, admission to the regional finals is $10 per person. Tickets are only available through the NCHSAA’s Digital Ticketing partner GoFan.

Each participating school will receive 250 ticket codes for families and their community members to purchase tickets to the Regional Finals. The remainder of tickets at each venue will be sold to the general public. Tickets will go on sale this afternoon (Wednesday, March 2).
