SEABOARD, NC – Our sweet mother, Doshie Darlee Davis (88), joined her beloved husband, parents, sisters, and brothers in the loving arms of God’s eternal rest on Sunday, February 13, 2022.

Born on January 4, 1934, she was known all her life by family and close friends as “Sugar Pig”. She is survived by her children: Thomas, of Gainesville, VA, and Deborah Gower, of Matthews, NC; grandchildren: Christopher Gower, of Matthews, NC, and Tiffany Simpson (Troy), of Charlotte, NC; and great grandchildren: Sam and Sean Simpson, of Charlotte, NC.

Darlee travelled the world for over twenty years with her husband, Billie G. Davis, USAF ret., and lived in places as diverse as Hawaii, Maine, Wyoming, and South Carolina before settling in her childhood home of Seaboard, NC.

She was a resident of Pine Forest Rest Home in Woodland, NC where she enjoyed the company of the staff and many lifelong friends.

Darlee was a long-term member of the Galatia Baptist Church in Seaboard, NC where a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 3 pm. The Rev. Matthew DuPuy will officiate. All who attend are requested to wear masks. Burial will take place at a future date at Arlington National Cemetery.
