MURFREESBORO – Murfreesboro police say they’re looking for a dark-colored passenger car, possibly a Volkswagen, which was used by suspects in an armed robbery that took place at Chowan University on January 23.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. Sunday evening at White’s Crossing, the apartment-style dorms on the edge of Chowan’s campus. The lone victim was not injured.

MPD Officers Dimino and Trenz conducted an investigation after the robbery and determined there were four male suspects who fled in the car towards the direction of town. Police were unable to locate them at the time.

A description of the suspects involved included one wearing a green hoodie and gray pants with a red bandana over his face. That suspect also had a gun. Another suspect was described as wearing a gray zip-up hoodie and a red bandana, and he also had a revolver.

No descriptions were provided for the other two suspects.

Murfreesboro Police and Chowan University Campus Police will continue working together on the case. Anyone with information is asked to call 252-398-4151 (Murfreesboro PD) or 252-398-1234 (Chowan Public Safety). Callers can remain anonymous.
