CONWAY, NC – Norman Burton Ricks, 82, of Gilmer Ricks Road, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Bryan Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scotland Neck. A native of Northampton County, Mr. Ricks was born in Halifax County on March 30, 1939 to Gilmer and Flossie Ricks.

He retired from Union Camp of Franklin after working 36 years in the roll finishing department and spent his retirement years being an avid hunter and fisherman.

Along with his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his uncle, John Albert Martin and his aunt, Emma Alice Martin.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Josephine Martin Ricks, of the home; two sons, Mark Ricks (Cathy), and Anthony Ricks (Vera) of Conway; and one daughter, Norma Jo Drewette (Bobby) of Jackson. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jason Ricks (Tish), Jamie Taylor (Opie) of Conway; Mindy Drewette (Ashley) of Jackson, and Shane Bradshaw of Sedley, VA; and three great grandchildren, Sarah Kate Ricks, Karson Ricks, and Trent Taylor.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Conway Cemetery at 11:30 am with Rev. Willie McLawhorn officiating.
