GATESVILLE, NC – Millard Collins “Mickey” Lee, Jr., age 69, of Perkins Road, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.

Mickey was born on October 24, 1951 to the late Millard Collins Lee, Sr. and Eva Graves Lee in Greensboro, NC. He worked as a salesman in the insurance industry for many years and could talk with ease to friends and strangers alike. Mickey was outgoing and believed in shaking hands with people. A genuine man, he could make everyone laugh with his sense of humor. Mickey loved his family greatly and was especially devoted to his grandchildren. He served as a Board Member of the Board of Directors for Roanoke Electric for just shy of 24 years. He loved nature and being outdoors riding in his golf cart and deer hunting. Mickey was loved by everyone and will be deeply missed.

Mickey is survived by his wife, Dorothy Fay Franklin Lee; his sons, Brad Lee and wife Crystal of Gatesville, and Taylor Ray Lee of New Bern; his daughter, Kirsten Lee Barber and husband Terence of Jacksonville; five grandsons, Brennan Taylor Lee, Jase Collins Lee, Peyton Collins Lee, Samuel Franklin Barber, and Cameron Wilson Barber; his granddaughter, Kaylee Alana Lee; and his sisters, Robyn Gail Lee of Fayetteville, NC and Shirley Lowder of Norwood, NC.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie and other times at the home.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, with Rev. Haskell Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Lee Family Cemetery, Gatesville, NC.
