AHOSKIE – The season may have ended for Ahoskie American Legion Post 102 baseball, but the fun is far from over.

Post 102 baseball is hosting a family fun day on Saturday, July 24 at the Hertford County High School field.

The event begins at 10 a.m. with a Homerun Derby that is open to all ages. Registration ($5) for that event is at 9:30 a.m.

The fence for the Homerun Derby will be 290 feet for those ages 16-and-under and the regular fence at HCHS for ages 17-and-over.

At the conclusion of the homerun contest, the Junior team will meet the Senior team in a five-inning game.

Lunch will be served at the conclusion of that game. The menu features grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, french fries, desserts and beverages. Players and their family members can eat free. The general public is asked to make a small donation to the baseball program.

An awards ceremony for the 2021 season will conclude the day’s activities.
