KINSTON –Ahoskie Post 102’s Senior team put the brakes on a seven-game losing streak here last week with an 11-6 win over Kinston in American Legion baseball action.

Trailing 2-0, Post 102 tallied four runs in the top of the third. James Gilreath has a bases loaded walk followed by RBI singles by Parker Bradley, Evan Wells and T.J. Lassiter.

Kinston rallied in the home half of the third inning where they scored three times to grab a 5-4 lead.

Ahoskie bounced right back and matched their hosts by scoring three runs of their own in the top of the fourth. There, Lassiter slapped an RBI single while Bryce Stevens added a two-run single. Ahoskie leads 7-5 after four innings.

Post 102 adds a pair of runs in the top of the sixth thanks to a two-RBI single off the bat of Aydan Harmon Ahoskie leads 9-5 after six innings.

Ahoskie scores its final two runs in the top of the seventh on a Bradley RBI single and a Wells RBI single. Ahoskie leads 11-5 going to the bottom of the seventh.

Kinston scores one run in the bottom of the seventh as Ahoskie wins 11-6.

David Basnight pitches six innings for the win. Trent Hobbs pitches one inning for Post 102.

Ahoskie improves to 1-7 on the season.
