Murder probe underway in Severn

SEVERN – The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation after a man was found shot to death inside a Severn residence early Monday morning.

NCSO Captain Patrick Jacobs said in an email that deputies responded at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Monday to a residence on Mills Street in Severn in reference a male subject being shot.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered Erskine Lawrence, age 51 of Severn, had sustained gunshot wounds to the body resulting in his death at the scene.

“This is an ongoing homicide investigation at this time and we encourage anyone with information to please contact our office at 252-534-2611 or Crime Stoppers at 252-534-1110. Any and all information will be confidential,” Jacobs stated.
