WINDSOR – Howard Vann Harrell, 68, of Askewville-Bryant Street, passed away Wednesday May 26, 2021 at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC.

He was born in Windsor, September 7, 1952 to the late Lindsey David and Doris Ruth Evans Harrell and predeceased by a brother, James “Jimmy” Russell Harrell. Howard was a member of Askewville Assembly of God and formerly of Ross Baptist Church. Howard retired as an Auditor with Perdue, Inc. He was the church treasurer for many years. He a member of the Association of Fraud Investigators and former clerk for the town of Askewville. He also had his own tax accounting business. Howard served his country in the US Marine Corps.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Askewville Assembly of God.  Rev. R. O. Denton, Jr., Rev. Webb Hoggard and Rev. Allen Harmon will officiate. Burial will follow with military honors in Edgewood Cemetery with Rev. Randy Pierce and Rev. Webb Hoggard officiating.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Cynthia Bryant Harrell of the home; daughter, Carla Pesce and husband, Dave of Windsor; son, Vann Harrell, and wife Jarren of Monroe; brothers, David Carroll Harrell of Colerain, Michael D. Harrell of Windsor; grandchildren, David Pesce, Jr, Sarah Harrell, Piper Harrell and Caelyn Pesce.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Walker Funeral Home from 6-7:30 p.m. and from the home at other times. Memorial gifts may be made to Askewville Assembly of God, Mission Fund, 105 Askewville-Bryant Street, Windsor, NC  27983.
