WOODLAND – Frances Roberta Outland, 72, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Accordius Health and Rehab of Ahoskie, North Carolina.

Roberta was born on September 3, 1948 to the late John Griffin Outland and Maude Stephenson Outland in Norfolk, VA. She enjoyed people and always had a huge smile that would brighten any room. She was a dedicated member of Woodland Baptist Church. Roberta loved cruises, playing golf, animals, and going to the beach to spend the week. She worked as the secretary at the casket company for many years. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Roberta is survived by her brother, John “Johnny” Griffin Outland Jr. and wife Barbara of Woodland; nephew, Scott Smith and wife Leslie of Woodland; great nephew, Michael Smith; great-niece, Lizzie Smith; three cousins, Charles Stephenson, Elliott Stephenson, and Connie Christison.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, April 28, 2021 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square, NC and other times at the home of Roberta’s brother.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 29, 202, at 2 p.m. at the Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, NC, with Dr. J Brabban officiating.
