Due to the predicted winter weather overnight, District Court Chief Judge Brenda Branch has decided to err on the side of caution and set a two-hour delay for court sessions scheduled for Thursday in Halifax, Hertford and Northampton counties.

The following courts will begin at 11 am on Thursday, unless notified otherwise:

Halifax County Juvenile DSS 2 with Judge Teresa R. Freeman;

Hertford County Civil/Family with Judge Brenda G. Branch; and

Northampton DVPO/Criminal with Judge W. Turner Stephenson, III.

Additionally, the start time for Small Claims Court in Halifax County has been pushed back to 12 noon on Thursday. That session will be held in Courtroom #4.
