SUNBURY, NC – Martha Ann Franklin Perry, 92, of 320 NC 32 North, Sunbury, died Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Elizabeth City Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Perry was born in Gates County on October 18, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Irvin and Mae Virginia Rountree Franklin. A 1947 graduate of Sunbury High School, she was a homemaker, wife and mother, and as long as health permitted, was a faithful member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on May 10, 2020 by her husband of 68 years, Irving Holland Perry; by her sister, Nellie Roberson; and by brothers, Benjamin, William, and Thomas Franklin.

Surviving are her daughter, Fleda P. Eure (Bud) of Eure; her son, Tom Perry (Janet) of Sunbury; three grandchildren, Martha Eure Martin (Joseph), Nick Wilson (Kaitlyn), and Melissa Wilson (Ray); and four great-grandchildren, Daniel, Camden, Colby, and Dylan.

A private graveside service will be held in the Damascus Christian Church Cemetery in Sunbury.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Philadelphia U.M.C., P.O. Box 148, Sunbury, NC 27979.
