AULANDER – Jarvis Godwin “Buddy” Outland, 76, of 1151 Early Station Road, died Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in his home where he was being cared for by his family.

Mr. Outland was born in Hertford County on February 22, 1944, and was the son of the late Horace Lee and Blannie Cornelia Barnes Outland. The retired owner and operator of J.G. Outland Signs, he grew up in the fellowship of Severn Baptist Church. He had served in the NC National Guard.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Jackie Godwin Outland; his daughter, Sherry Pridgen of Beaufort; his son, Kevin Lee Outland and wife, Kathy, of Aulander; his sister, Judy Joyner of Murfreesboro; five grandchildren, Kristin, Katelin, Billy, Kelly, and Michael; and three great-grandchildren, Autumn, Zakk, and Wyatt.

The family will hold a private graveside service in Severn Cemetery.
