PENDLETON – Fannie Lee Bryant, a kind, gentle spirit whose life’s canvas was painted by her faith, her family, and her friends.

Fannie Lee Bryant, age 94, went to be with her Lord on the evening of June 14, 2020, at the Rich Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the oldest of ten children born to Croman and Lassie Martin.

After finishing her education, Fannie Lee met and married Ellis Ray Bryant. They shared fifty-four years together until his death in 1998. The highlight of their marriage was the birth of their only child, Robert Ray Bryant, in 1945. Their years were spent living for one another.

Faith sustained Fannie Lee throughout her life. Bible reading and prayer gave her the strength to meet any difficult decision. Her good Lord was a constant Comforter.

Family simple pleasures brought her the most joy: engaging in a competitive game of checkers, helping at her husband’s antique store, or gathering with family for wonderful Sunday dinners. Fannie Lee was gifted in the areas of painting and sewing. She was the “go-to” family member for help with numerous school projects. Those family members who moved away and became teachers continued to call on her talents. During her later years of immobility, she found joy in watching television artists transform empty canvas surfaces into beautiful landscapes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six brothers and three sisters.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Robert Ray Bryant, who lovingly cared for her after the death of her husband. She will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, special nephew, Daryl Lassiter, a sister-in-law, and special friends, Donna Burgess and Trent Burgess.  The family wishes to thank Donna Burgess and the Steven Burgess family for their love and care over many years.

Graveside service will be held at Roberts Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Pendleton, NC, on Thursday, June 18, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers and to honor her memory, do a good deed for someone. Memorials can be made to Roberts Chapel Baptist Church, 2617 Britton Rd., Pendleton, NC. 27862.

Bridgers Funeral Home, Inc. in Conway is in charge of arrangements and online condolences can be shared with the family at www.bridgersfuneralhome.com.
