COLERAIN, NC – Jeffrey Allen “Bodean” Matthews, 56, of 742 Nowell Farm Road, Colerain, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 in his home.

Born in Bertie County on December 21, 1963, he was the son of the late Jesse Allen and Edna Rae Morris Matthews.

The owner and operator of J & J Farms, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding horses and motorcycles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Justin Matthews.

Surviving are his wife of five years, Sharon Deneene Bolam; a daughter, Brianna Renee Edwards (William) and their children, Cloey and Colton Edwards, all of Colerain; a sister, Rhonda Barber (Mike) of Chesapeake, VA; and two nieces, Candace (Mark) and Alex.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the residence, and will be conducted by Chaplain Brian Sawyer.
