Armed robberies reported

Northampton Sheriff Jack Smith confirmed that Dollar General in Seaboard was the scene of an armed robbery approximately 30 minutes ago.

The Sheriff and his deputies are currently on the scene where an investigation is underway.

Smith told the R-C News-Herald that no one was injured in the robbery.

There was no information immediately available regarding the suspect or suspects.

Sheriff Smith also confirmed that the Family Dollar in Weldon was robbed at gunpoint approximately 30 minutes prior to the Seaboard incident. He said it was too early to tell if the two robberies are related.
