AULANDER, NC – Margaret Rawls Bracy, age 71, of St John’s township, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the Vidant Medical Center of Greenville, NC.

Mrs. Bracy was born on November 26, 1947 to Otis and Vennie Jones Rawls in Hertford County, NC. She was a devoted member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Margaret was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed shopping, crafts, cooking, reading, and especially family gatherings. She was considered the glue that kept it together. Margaret was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Bracy, and son, Buddy Bracy.

Margaret is survived by a son, Scottie W. Vann and wife Carol of the home; five sisters, Jeanette Lassiter and husband Billy of Aulander, Judy Cooke of Rocky Mount, NC, Nita R. Morris and friend, Bill Dunning of Aulander, Jane Bland and husband Kenneth of Aulander, and Jeanette R. Peele and husband Bennett of Conway, NC; brother, Robert E. Rawls and wife Tina of Aulander, along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019, at 11:00 am at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church. Pastor Greg Hurdle will be officiating, and burial will follow at the Ahoskie Cemetery.
