AHOSKIE, NC – Ernest “Ernie” Junior Venable, age 88, passed away on June 5, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Venable was born on June 8, 1930 to William Haywood and Effie Ila Jackson Venable in Kernersville, NC. Ernie served his country proudly in the United States Navy and was a Korean War veteran. He was the owner and operator of Electric Motor Service in Ahoskie for many years. Ernie was a hard-working family man that loved spending time with them. He married the love of his life Jennie, and they were married for nearly 67 years. Ernie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend that will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Besides his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by a son, Billy Venable; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose.

Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Jennie; a daughter, Terry Venable Rose and husband David of Waynesville, NC; a son, Donald “Donny” Venable and wife Vickie of Northport, AL; two granddaughters, Allison Kaserman and husband Mark of Memphis, TN, and Miranda Venable Stone and husband Rob of Youngsville, NC; two grandsons, Bransford Rose of Gloucester, VA, and Grant Venable and wife Bethany of Hamilton, GA; and two great-granddaughters, Alissa and Serena Stone.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019, 1:00 pm at the Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Richard Goodman officiating.
