Pansy B. Storey

MURFREESBORO, NC – Pansy Brown Storey, age 86, passed away on May 20, 2019 at her residence in Murfreesboro, NC surrounded by her beloved family.

Mrs. Storey was born in Bertie County, NC, on January 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Benjamin Zebedee and Minnie Britton Brown. She was a longtime, faithful member of Murfreesboro Baptist Church. Pansy enjoyed the outdoors, and loved working in her yard and flowers, her favorite being daffodils. She especially enjoyed taking rides around the farm with her grand dog, Marley. Pansy was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Never did you go to her home and leave hungry.

Pansy was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Besides her parents, Pansy was preceded in death by her loving husband, J. Lewis Storey; her sister, Helen Pearce; and two brothers, J. B. Brown and Coy Brown.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Ronald “Ronnie” Storey and wife, Connie, and Jerry Storey and wife, Melanie, all of Murfreesboro, NC; her daughter, Patsy Marriner and husband, Stacy of Elizabeth City, NC; two granddaughters, Allison Hollowell and husband, Daniel of Greenville, NC, and Jessie Taylor and husband, Evan of Kinston, NC; a grandson, Roy Marriner of Elizabeth City, NC; and her great-grandchildren, Avery Hollowell and Tenley Hollowell of Greenville, NC, and Finn Taylor of Kinston, NC. Also surviving are two brothers, Lonnie Brown and wife Becky, and Howard Brown and wife Alice of Ahoskie, NC, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, NC, and other times at the home.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 11:00 am at Murfreesboro Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, NC, with Rev. Lane Bass officiating.
